VIDEO-ART BY DAVID APIKIAN

David Apikian (France - Russia) was born 1950 in Erevan (Armenia).
He received his Master of Architectural Degree from Viiralt Institute in Tallin in 1982, after studying painting at the School of Fine Arts in Erevan and having worked atthe Animation Studio SoyuzMultFilm in Moscow and at ArmenFilm in Erevan.
He is presently living in Paris (since 1984) and works as a Teacher in residence at the EAPM (Ecole d'Architecture Paris - Malaquais), and at INA (Institut National de l'Audiovisuel Paris). At the same time, he is continuing his visual research: painting, computer graphics, experimental films, interactive installations. He made his first computer images in 1985 - that was a natural transition from his early visual experiences (paintings, graphics, animation and architectural works), to Computer Art.
